Our History

The MK Christian Foundation was formed in 1985/86 to provide an umbrella for the activities of a team of lay and ordained staff, employed by local churches, whose work was focused within the communities and ’sectors’ of life in Milton Keynes. ‘Sectors’ included: industry; education; youth; social responsibility; and Communication. The team sought to relate to and learn with those sector communities, developing practical responses to the issues and needs they and others identified there.  Over the years  our work has encompassed many social, environmental and economic concerns offering opportunities for reflection and innovation with partners from across the community and to explore new patterns of expressing faith in community.

In the last 10 years we have begun to explore the use of social enterprise as a means of ‘co-producing’ solutions to local issues, using them to provide rich contexts for many who have been struggling to access education and employment  to contribute and grow.

On Friday 21st we held our Graduation event to celebrate the achievements of our trainees. It was fantastic to such a great turn out with parents, siblings, carers and friends supporting our trainees for their graduation day AND to see so many of them dressed to impress!
The day consisted of awards that celebrate the successes of 2016-2017, yummy food and a photo booth. Congratulations to the award winners and all the trainees who achieved this year, we wish you all the best in your new ventures.
