Strengthening parenting, strengthening families
To empower and enable families through the delivery of a range of services to support the building of their skills and confidence.
Services include:
Foundation Care: practical support to families and individuals in need, of all ages and offering training in Care to apprentices and trainees engaged in the project; FFP Retail: a retail project selling second-hand and nearly new baby and children’s clothes, toys and equipment;FFP Childcare: a mix of child care resources ranging from childminding facilities and crèche to full day childcare, with fees levied according to users’ ability to pay. The development and delivery of after-school and holiday clubs in partnership with other community, voluntary and statutory services; FFP Training: parenting training and parenting support activities for parents of all ages, but with particular emphasis on teenage parents. This is delivered by paid staff, but is supported through input from experienced young parents and volunteers;FFP Mentoring: a young parents mentoring service, run by young parents, and offering support to other young parents, as well as delivering workshops to schools and youth clubs as part of their Sex and Relationship Education.There will be a strong emphasis on developing peer support in all these elements; engaging parents in developing their skills to support other parents.
