Foundation Training: Maths Training Assistant


Part time 22.5 hrs a week (Term Time)


Salary £17,000-£18,000 pa pro rata

Foundation Training provides innovative learning opportunities, within social enterprises, for young people struggling with traditional approaches to teaching and learning. We use our social enterprises as learning environments helping young people to:


  • build their confidence and self esteem
  • develop vocational, employability, social and life skills
  • gain vocational and employability qualifications including customer services
  • grow skills and achieve qualifications in maths and English
  • identify the next steps towards more independent living


For this post you will need an enhanced DBS check.


This purpose of this post is to provide:


  • Support for trainees working to build their Functional Skills


Key requirements

You will have:

  • Experience as teacher, trainer or TA
  • Maths to at least L2
  • Awareness of Safeguarding expectations
  • An enhanced DBS
  • Good administrative skills
  • An ability to be flexible and be good at working under pressure
  • Strong team player
  • Positive, creative and solution focused


Think Food – Social Enterprise Manager/Cook


Job type: Full time 37.5 hrs a week


Salary £17,500-£18,500 pa

Think Food is an exciting social enterprise with an eating place in Wolverton that looks to produce good food.  We invest a lot in the word ‘good’! We want our food offer to:

You will be an enterprising, creative cook with strong ideas of how to deliver the vision and values of the enterprise.

The purpose of this post is to lead and develop the social enterprise and cook in our Think Food cafe. To:


  • manage staff to effectively deliver the work of the enterprise
  • create menus for our cafés and buffets that embody Think Food’s vision and values
  • prepare and present food to a high standard
  • Be responsible for food hygiene and health and safety
  • effectively engage and train young people on our pre-apprenticeship programme


Key requirements

You will:

  • Be a creative cook, cooking healthy meals with locally sourced produce
  • Have experience of catering in a commercial context
  • Have experience of managing staff
  • Have an ability to engage with and support the learning of young trainees                                      
  • Have a catering and Food Hygiene qualification                                                                   
  • Strong team work skills and an ability to work constructively with others
  • Ability to manage a budget and apply financial and administrative procedures     


Childcare Development Practitioner


Job type: Full time 37.5 hrs a week


Salary £16,000-£17,000 pa pro rata

Childcare Pathways is an exciting social enterprise that engages and trains young people to run a number of activities that support children and families, including:


  • Childcare: Providing a range of childcare activities that encourage children’s development and address their needs.  Our under-fives provision includes crèches, stay-and-play sessions, holiday clubs and other events for school age children. 
  • Family Support: Offering parent support groups, information sharing and mentoring that will increase the support for parents and build networks within the community.
  • Training:  Providing diverse childcare and parenting training. 


This purpose of this post is to:


  • Run crèches, parent and tots groups, and school age holiday schemes
  • Work with and train young people to develop the range of skills needed to run Early Years setting and holiday clubs.


For this post you will need an enhanced DBS check.


Key requirements

You will have:


  • An ability to run crèches for children and establish strong partnerships with parents                             
  • experience of working with school age children
  • experience with working, supporting and training young people to achieve
  • Knowledge and ability to implement of safeguarding procedures in an Early Years setting
  • a childcare qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and requirements set out by Ofsted relevant to Early Years provision                                                                      
  • Qualifications at level 2 or above in English and Maths                                       
  • Strong team work skills and an ability to work constructively with others
  • A commitment to the completion of work and to the achievement of targets

On Friday 21st we held our Graduation event to celebrate the achievements of our trainees. It was fantastic to such a great turn out with parents, siblings, carers and friends supporting our trainees for their graduation day AND to see so many of them dressed to impress!
The day consisted of awards that celebrate the successes of 2016-2017, yummy food and a photo booth. Congratulations to the award winners and all the trainees who achieved this year, we wish you all the best in your new ventures.
